3 Interview Techniques You'll Learn Inside

Let's look at a few of the techniques that you'll learn inside the course.

Interview Improvement #1

Establishing Rapport

When you answer the phone for an interview what do you say when they ask, “how are you?” If you say any variation of “good, how are you?” you’re missing a HUGE opportunity.

The single biggest thing that will determine whether you’re moving on to the next interview is whether they think you’d be a good fit for the team. People hire people they like, period. Great interviewees start building rapport with their interviewer from the very first minute.

Here are a few phrases that you can use to open up the conversation and establish that human connection from the very first words you say:

“O I’m doing great, I just took my dog out to the park so we’re both quite happy.”

“I’m doing well, my kids just started school so it’s been nice having some quiet in the house for a change.”

“I’m doing good, I just got in from my morning bike ride so I’m feeling charged up and ready to go.”

What exactly you choose doesn’t matter so much. Adding any personal phrase to your introduction will immediately help you seem more like a person and less like a “candidate with a resume.”

Interview Improvement #2
Maintaining Clarity

The second most common interview mistake that even strong candidates often make is to confuse their interviewer. You’ve probably read advice like, “make sure to have clear answers prepared to their questions.” But what does that exactly mean?

More importantly, HOW do you create clear answers without having them sound rehearsed?

Figuring this out took me a very long time (literally months of trial and error). Today though I can create a clear answer to any interview in less than a few seconds.

Here’s the “secret” process to creating clear answers:

Practice your answers systematically.

Revolutionary right? It sounds simple, but that word “systematically” is the key to becoming an interview grand master.

In the program I’ll show you the system I developed to create answers that will have your interviewer raising their eyebrows and nodding along.

Interview Improvement #3

Impressive Curiosity

According to surveys, hiring managers care more about the questions you ask them than the questions they’ve asked you. Strange right? I never understood why this was the case, until I became a manager that is.

The truth is that managers don’t actually want to manage someone. Most managers will tell you that they like coaching people rather than managing them.

Ideally once they hire an employee, they want that employee to be fairly self-sufficient. They want the employee to take things on without having to be asked to do so.

That’s why the questions you ask are so important during an interview.

By asking questions, you’re demonstrating curiosity about the company and the role. You’re showing that you’ll be a proactive employee who won’t need tons of hand holding.

Good candidates will ask questions at the end of the interview, but great candidates will ask questions throughout the entire interview.

In the program I’ll show you how you can weave a few smart questions into your interview (including some word-for-word scripts you can use) so that you create that seamless flow with your interviewer.
